“Ghost in the Shell” is a science fiction film produced in 1995 portraying futuristic, technological advancement and ideas of cyborgs blurring the line between humans and machines. The proposed city draws traits from the film: high, dense skyscrapers and diverse modes of transportation. It is taken one step further with the separation of public and private spaces, distinguished by the interior and exterior uses; the exterior of all buildings together mimic a mountainous terrain, an artificial attempt in a digitalized world. The focused building is one half of two connected wholes. The building focuses on the contrast between masses and voids. There are floors that create mass, but there is a void off-set from the contour of the building. The floors are also separated to two types to create another layer of masses and voids. In the unit, the furniture is isolated masses that is movable, which means that the print between masses and voids can also always be subject to change.
